Seeing double!

When you combine the skill of the suppliers involved in Sophie & Ed’s wedding here at Barnsley House the results are bound to be something special but honestly, it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined.

Working in the industry herself, Sophie had strong ideas of what she wanted along with a good knowledge of what works and what doesn’t so needed very little guidance from me!
Everything was chosen with Barnsley House in mind and complimented everything from the gardens to the paint colour in the restaurant perfectly.
Delicate floral arrangements in both the ceremony and reception spaces, an exquisite bespoke ‘dress’ designed by Sophie’s very talented twin sister Amie to some simple yet very effective tulle covered bonbon balloons the planning and detail involved was second to none and my, did it pay off!
Just like Sophie’s dress, the wedding was elegant and traditional with a twist of the modern and fashionable; beautiful dusky shades of flowers with the addition of crystals and feathers, crisp, sharp groomsmen suits against flirty, short bridesmaids dresses (also designed by Amie) with skyscraper heels. The whole day was a perfect reflection of Sophie & Ed, their personalities and good taste shining through.

Mr & Mrs Sparrow

We have been exceptionally lucky with the weather this summer at Barnsley House and Louise and Max’s wedding day was no exception.

The picture perfect couple are local to Barnsley House and brought a great group of friends and family to enjoy the celebrations.

Louise and her equally stunning bridesmaids began preparation the day before spending time at our gorgeous spa and indulging in a room service dinner before a night of beauty sleep.

The boys joined us on the day, suited, booted and raring to go!

Louise and Max chose our beautiful Temple to say ‘I do’ in front of the pond and were showered with confetti as they exited from the ceremony.

The wedding breakfast was a country affair bringing the outside in for a secret garden feel.

Music was a high priority for Max and Louise and so different groups were brought in to entertain at each stage of the day all adding to the wonderful atmosphere.

A HUGE congratulations to Louise & Max. A truly stunning wedding.

What's a wedding without Beef Jerky!

Louise brought the glamour, she also brought THE shoes!

Andrew brought his charm and proved himself to be a pretty good shot.

James, our best man brought the Beef Jerky (!) which made it's way into not only most photo opportunities but also into pillowcases, beds and bathrooms throughout Barnsley House!

It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Louise and Andrew. Their intimate group of close friends and family provided a wonderful atmosphere here over the weekend with the drizzle doing nothing to dampen the mood.

It was also great to welcome back Steve Richardson, a former Barnsley groom himself who provided these wonderful images of the couple and of the house.

Oh Happy Day!

With a bride as organised as Sophie and a groom as friendly as Will, we were bound to see a fabulous wedding here at Barnsley House last month.

A traditional wedding at St Mary's Church, Barnsley was given a little extra excitement by Sophie and Will's surprise to their guests, a flash mob gospel choir who joined in the hymns and entertained the guests during the signing of the marriage register.

We welcomed the happy couple back to the hotel with a magnificent confetti line before Will & Sophie took to the gardens for photographs.

Sophie's gorgeous niece Darcy had a lovely time playing in Sophie's veil providing this incredible photo opportunity!

We wish Sophie & Will all the best in their married life.

April without showers!

An outdoor wedding on 2nd April! What more could you ask for?

Katie and Jonas were previously married and came to us at Barnsley House for an intimate celebration with close family and friends.

The sun shone for them and it was warm enough to create the stunning images pictured below with guests enjoying a champagne reception on our glorious terrace.

The wedding was followed by a lovely lunch in our Potager restaurant where the guests had such a great time they stayed on for several hours!

A brilliant start to a busy wedding season!
